DLA+ partnered with New York Life to deliver over 43,000 square feet of modern, Class A office space within the Vision on Fifteenth building, supporting both workplace operations and specialized training functions. The project presented several key design challenges that required a strategic and highly coordinated approach. Spanning two non-contiguous floors, the design needed to create a cohesive experience while accommodating distinct programmatic functions—an executive and staff workplace on the 8th floor, and a dedicated training and support environment on the 7th floor. Aligning these two floors in both branding and user experience was critical to maintaining organizational identity and operational continuity. On the 8th floor, DLA+ designed a balanced workplace environment that integrates private offices, open workstations, and a variety of meeting and collaboration spaces. Careful planning was required to optimize the existing floor plate, ensuring efficient circulation, access to daylight, and acoustic separation between focused work areas and collaborative zones. The 7th floor introduced a different set of challenges, including the integration of a high-capacity training center alongside back-of-house functions such as a mail/production room and file storage. These program elements required enhanced infrastructure, coordination of structural loading considerations, and thoughtful adjacency planning to support both functionality and user experience. Additional complexity stemmed from working within the constraints of an occupied building and an existing core that remained in place, including restrooms, mechanical systems, and vertical circulation. DLA+ leveraged these existing conditions while designing new demising walls, corridors, and elevator lobby improvements to create a seamless and elevated tenant environment. In collaboration with Turner Construction and Allen & Shariff, DLA+ delivered full architectural and engineering services, including interior design, MEP systems, fire protection, and targeted structural analysis. The result is a refined, high-performance workplace that reflects New York Life’s commitment to quality, adaptability, and long-term growth.
