Project Challenges and Outcomes


American Natural wanted to integrate and translate its brand values into a premium convenience and fueling store while prioritizing and personalizing the customer experience. The store needed to serve as a relaxing dining option beyond the typical c-store experience by providing access to cleaner, more economic fuel, and healthier food options.


DLA+ collaborated with the Owner’s branding consultant to develop a design that reflected its brand values. The natural materials and warm color palate create a clean and sustainable environment. The design integrates sustainable features to align with the brand’s goal of promoting a responsible building environment. These include, abundant windows for natural lighting, BAS to control building systems to reduce energy consumption, heat reflecting roofing, cut off site lighting to minimize light pollution, LED lighting systems, low flow restroom fixtures, and more.

Aside from the clean, natural atmosphere, the store design also improves the customer experience. With clear internal and external circulation paths and signage, customers can quickly navigate the space. The latest technology including wi-fi, power ports in the dining area, HDTV’s, and menu boards all help with the customer experience.

The resulting space offers customers a cleaner and more unique retail and fueling option in their community.
