Project Challenges & Outcome
Challenges
DLA+ was commissioned by PJ Dick to design the new 30,000 SF Sustainable Operations Center for their sister company, Lindy Paving. The overall design goal was to provide a sleek contemporary design that speaks to their corporate identity, while being functional for users both collaboratively and private as necessary. The company also wanted to ensure that there was access to social spaces.
Outcomes
The overall design concept for Lindy Paving incorporates architectural massing based on intersecting horizontal and vertical plans. Those design concepts are carried through to the interior. The interior design incorporates linear design elements that are apparent in the ceiling design, finish selections and lighting fixture selections.
The Lindy Paving brand is evident in the illuminated exterior signage, in the first floor lobby and throughout with the interior pallet featuring cool metallic tones accented with hues of yellow and green.
Collaboration space on the second floor Operations Hub is equipped with illuminates the glass white boards. Both the first and second floors feature an open office area and offices in the space have glass fronts. Lunch rooms and kitchenettes served as social spaces for users.
